The Watauga County Board of Elections Office is located in the Courthouse Annex at 331 Queen
Street in downtown Boone, adjacent to the County Courthouse. Normal business hours are 8:00 a.m.
to 5:00 p.m., Monday and Friday.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Board of Elections is to promote and conduct fair, honest, impartial, and efficient elections so all qualified citizens in Watauga County may exercise their right to vote.
The Board of Elections consists of three (3) members appointed for two-year terms by the N. C. State Board of Elections upon the recommendations of the political parties. The Board of Elections is the County agency charged with the responsibility for administering the elections for Watauga County, including the municipal, county, state, and federal elections and special referenda.
